Carbon capture system for biogas combustion
About the project
The project aims to enhance small-scale post-combustion carbon capture, focusing on decentralized CO2 sources like those linked to agricultural biogas plants.
Welltec will demonstrate a carbon capture system designed to sequester CO2 directly from point sources, reducing emissions and promoting circular economy practices by converting biogenic CO2 into e-fuels. A fully integrated and automated small-scale carbon capture system will be demonstrated at the Greenfarm biogas plant at Gråsten Landbrugsskole, focusing on effective CO2 capture, cost efficiency, scalability, regulatory compliance, technological advancement and minimal environmental impact. The role of DTU Energy is the structuring and characterization of solid sorbents for carbon capture in thermal swing adsorption processes.
