CCU-Net
Nordic Network for Carbon Capture and Utilization

About the project
CCU-net is a Nordic network program that will focus on the training of highly qualified personnel in the strategic field of carbon capture and utilization.
The project, follows a complementary and broader approach of developing advanced materials and technologies for carbon capture and utilization in combination with the education of young researchers is envisioned as a key stepping stone towards the Nordic long-term vision of establishing a 100% renewable energy (RE) systems and a significant reduction in the GHG emissions.
Within the technical frame of the project, porous adsorbents such as zeolites, metal-organic frameworks for CO2 capture and conversion will be designed, synthesized, structured into suitable shapes and tested for CO2 capture and utilization. Ph.D. project collaboration and exchange on existing and future Ph.D. and postdoc will focus on synthesis and processing of tailored adsorbents for CO2 capture and conversion, development of advanced shaping technologies, modeling, and testing of adsorbents for CO2 separation, e.g. post-combustion CO2 capture and catalysts for CO2 conversion and testing to evaluate the materials and processes for producing sustainable fuels.
Type of project
Nordic or Nordic-Baltic PhD and researcher mobility.
